Officers from Atlanta Police Department and surrounding jurisdictions, along with local prosecutors in the metropolitan area, are learning more about state human trafficking laws Sept. 30 as part of an ongoing, statewide effort to arrest and convict pimps and johns who victimize up to 300 adolescent girls each month in Georgia. This is the second Law Enforcement Roundtable for Atlanta-area law enforcement and prosecutors.

Statewide Campaign to Stop Prostitution of Children Commends Conviction of Man Who Pimped 16-Year-Old Cousin

A Fulton County jury convicted Zaccheus Obie, a 26-year-old Atlantan, on Thursday, June 18, of transporting his 16-year-old first cousin to prostitute on Metropolitan Parkway. According to testimony, Obie, who was arrested in May 2008, may have been running his pimping operation for as long as four years.
